Boilerplate
Short (~40 words)
ZANCTA is a free, browser-based toolkit for PDF and image tasks — merge, split, compress, convert, OCR, and metadata cleanup — that processes supported files locally on the visitor's device instead of uploading them to a server.
Medium (~90 words)
ZANCTA is a privacy-focused suite of PDF and image tools that run inside the browser. For supported workflows, selected file bytes are processed on the device — no upload to a conversion server is required. The toolkit covers PDF merge, split, compress, organize, text extraction, and metadata inspection; image compression, conversion, resizing, background removal, HEIC decoding, and EXIF cleaning; plus OCR, checksums, and QR generation. Tools are free and work without an account. A Premium plan adds local OCR power: extra languages and scanned-PDF OCR.

Technology notes
- Next.js + React application hosted on Vercel.
- PDF operations use pdf-lib and PDF.js; image work uses canvas-based codecs; OCR uses Tesseract.js; background removal runs a ~4.5 MB self-hosted ONNX model.
- HEIC decoding uses libheif compiled for the browser.
- Analytics (GA4) load only after analytics consent; event payloads are allowlisted and carry no file contents or filenames.
- Security headers, a strict CSP with per-request nonces, and published security.txt are in place.
The privacy model — including what "local processing" does and does not cover — is documented in Local processing, explained and Privacy.
Not claimed
For accuracy: ZANCTA does not publish user counts, revenue figures, press mentions, awards, rankings, or partnership logos, because none are verified today. Local processing is a specific architectural property — not a legal certification — and does not protect a device from extensions, malware, backups, or services a file is uploaded to afterwards.
